There are plenty of places where anyone can use a hammock all around greece, from the north to the west, from the islands, to the beaches in mainland. There are plenty of
organized Camping areas but also there are plenty of areas for free camping.
In general according to Greek law free camping is prohibited in Greece, however there are plenty of places where everyone can enjoy free camping without having any problem 99%
Why is prohibited ? Because According to the Greek Law, a Camping Τent is an accomodation, and no-one can occupy public space. So for example, if someone - you- want to sleep on a beach you can do it, but without accomodation, without a tent. So anyone can sleep as many night wishes on a greek beach, without accomodation, because the access to the beach is for free for ever and ever. To be accused for free camping ( which is illegal) you have to have accomodation, and accomodation is only the tent. Hammock is not an Accomodation, sleeping bag is not an accomodation, so yes you can enjoy camping, even free (wild) camping with a hammock in Greece without having any problem.

The Camping places in Greece they charge both for the persons, and also for the tent. For example, if you are 2 person, with a tent, they will charge you for 2 persons and one tent. Till now they dont charge the use of a hammock. It depents from the camping rulles though, So if you use only a hammock, you will pay only for the person and not for a tent. But it depent from camping policy.
In most of the Organized Camping places you can find easily a spot , plenty of trees to set your hammocks.

Free Camping is "supposed" to be illegal in Greece, as far as the use of a shelter like a tent, caravan and heavy camping gear which in a way can proove that you actually doing free wild camping. From the other hand everybody is free to be on a beach 24/7. All the beaches are public. So you can have access and stay on the beach as long as you like. So using light gear, like hammock, tartp for the sun, or umbrella for the sun, towel , mattress, mosquito net, and also food water, but not cooking equipment, imagine something like a free wild camping-picnic. So the tent and the heavy camping gear including cooking equipment makes the difference between illegal camping and llegal "enjoy the greek beaches to the maximum"
