Οι αιώρες Naya κατασκευάζονται από φυλές ιθαγενών που κατοικούν στην ευρύτερη περιοχή Otavalo του βόρειου Εκουαδόρ ( Ισημερινός). , Γνωστοί και ως Otavaleños έχουν την φήμη, την ικανότητα αλλά και την παράδοση στην ύφανσης της αιώρας εδώ και αιώνες. Έτσι η κάθε αιώρα αποτελεί ένα πραγματικό κομμάτι λαϊκής τέχνης του Εκουαδόρ.
Στους Otavaleños αρέσει η μουσική και η υφαντουργεία και θέλουν να το μοιραστούν με τον υπόλοιπο κόσμο.

In Ecuador the hammock production is concentrated in the Otavalo
region, a small town in the Northern Andes highlands of Ecuador. The
Indians from this region have been known for centuries for their weaving
skills and until date the region is an important textile manufacturer.
They are woven by the Otavalo indians in the North of Ecuador. An indian
tribe famous for its weavery for over 500 years. With a Nayá hamaca you
get a professional work of art from a weaving tradition of more than
500 years.
Otavaleños are also good musicians and with their music and their textiles they travel around the world.
